TFCD Makes History: Largest Delegation Sent to CDA National Convention

The Tennessee Federation of College Democrats made history this past week by sending the largest delegation ever from Tennessee to the College Democrats of America National Convention.

“Not only is this a monumental time in the Federation’s history,” said TFCD President Christy Holden, “but it also shows how motivated the College Democrats are toward addressing the Nation’s current problems.”

Delegates included representation from Middle Tennessee State University, Maryville College, UT Chattanooga, UT Knoxville, Rhodes College, and Christian Brothers University.

Members received training through Democratic G.A.I.N. on how to better organize, fundraise, and how to put together an affective meeting. CDA Convention Delegates also heard moving speeches from Sen. Hillary Clinton, Gov. Howard Dean, Cate Edwards, US Action President William McNary, Rep. Stephanie Herseth, and many more.

For a full account of the Convention, including pictures and video clips, check out UT Chattanooga’s website here.

The TFCD would like to thank the individuals that helped make this trip possible.
