TFCD 95 for 95 Fundraising Drive
On November 4 2008, the Tennessee Federation of College Democrats turned out in record numbers for President Barack Obama. In doing so, we made history and changed the political landscape as we know it. We have arrived – and no one can write us off anymore. On campuses across the state, students organized the Get Out The Vote campaign. That’s why 68% of young people voted for Barack Obama and delivered the strongest mandate for change our country has seen in decades, but the work doesn’t end here. Like President Obama said: “this victory alone is not the change we seek – it is only the chance for us to make that change.â€Â Starting today, we need your help. We need you to motivate your peers and help us drive the national agenda so we can get our country back on track.
The T.F.C.D. knows that in order to succeed at the federal level we need to be successful at the local level. 2010 is going to be one of the biggest election years for Democrats in the state of Tennessee, and that is why we have set plans and goals for 2009-2010. We want to improve our communication with you and the TNDP, stand up for the issues that we believe in such as: education, environment, health care, elections, and labor just to name a few. We feel that we can help elect another democratic governor and help regain the house and senate.
With all this, we need your support. We are running a campaign called 95 for 95. That’s $95.00 for all 95 counties in TN. We have expenses such as: our website, travel expenditures, and our upcoming 50th National College Democrats of America Convention. It’s going to be held at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., July 23-26, 2009.
We recognize that we now have an opportunity to help move our country forward, that’s why we’re asking you to donate $95 or more to help us fight for the issues that our party believes in. Your donation will help us train college democrat leaders from across the state to make sure there well equipped to do ground work for the 2010 elections. In addition, we will be able to reconnect and rebuild chapters across our state. Now that we have helped change our federal government, we have the opportunity to change our state and local levels and build a sustainable future that we can be proud of!!
Please send all donations to: Tennessee Federation of College Democrats P.O. Box 1614 Lebanon, TN 37088. Your donation and quick response will be greatly appreciated.
