Kim McMillan for Tennessee, campaign for Governor, is accepting resumes from interested individuals for college credit internships in the areas of finance and communications. Please notify college Democrats, and request they email Wade Munday at wmunday@kimmcmillan.com.

Also, please consider this a special invitation to each of you as leaders in the TFCD to join us in our campaign. We are accepting individuals for internships in communications, new media and finance and we are not restricted by geography (though only in-state internships qualify), and preference will not be given to individuals residing in the candidate’s hometown.

The deadline for internships rest largely with your academic institutions, and so we have a rolling deadline for interested Democrats.

Job Description:
The nation’s largest grassroots campaign for health care reform, Change that Works, has three offices in TN and is seeking unpaid interns looking for lobbying, campaign, communications and/or political experience to start work immediately.
Our nation’s health care reform debate will effectively be won or lost in July. Join our exciting campaign to provide quality affordable health care for all Americans at this crucial moment in our nation’s history.
CTW interns will work with the State Director, Political Director, Communications Director, Congressional District Leads, and Organizers to implement aggressive direct lobbying to ensure our elected officials vote for President Obama’s health care reform agenda.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Speaking on behalf of the organization to small groups.
- Helping build crowd for rallies, Congressional visits, and other events.
- Monitoring the media for health care reform news.
- Recruiting individuals to write their member of Congress, hold health care house meetings, and other forms of direct advocacy.
- Engaging potential supporters at their doors or on the phone
- Utilizing new media and social networking to build our organization.
- Helping to run press events and earn media for our campaign.
We look to build leadership among our interns and will assign responsiblity based on their individual career goals and course of study where applicable. Additionally, we will work with an interns place of study if internship credit is available.
Flexible hours are a possiblity, but a preference is for interns able to work between 10 hours to full time each week.
